Softball Game Preview: Gentry Pioneers vs. Berryville Bobcats

The Gentry Pioneers will challenge the Berryville Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Gentry barely beat Gravette the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Lions on Tuesday. Considering the Pioneers have won three matchups by more than 12 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Berryville made sure to put some runs up on the board against Huntsville on Tuesday. The Bobcats blew past the Eagles 19-4. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bobcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The victory got Gentry back to even at 3-3. As for Berryville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Gentry took their victory against Berryville when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Pioneers repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
