The Community Christian Academy Warriors will head out to challenge the Christian Family Academy Fire at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Community Christian Academy has seven straight wins, Christian Family Academy has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Community Christian Academy gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Jackson Day 12-2. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly ten runs.
Cole Richardson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Community Christian Academy got a big performance out of Mason Maltba, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Aiden Thomas was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Community Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .643. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Christian Family Academy lost 13-3 to The Master's Academy on Tuesday.
Christian Family Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brantley Davis, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Community Christian Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Christian Family Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything went Community Christian Academy's way against Christian Family Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Community Christian Academy made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
