Softball Recap: Clio's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Clio got themselves on the board against Lake Fenton on Thursday, but Lake Fenton never followed suit. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 4-0. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Blue Devils last Monday, they had to take a 10-7 loss.

The result came thanks to Addie Taylor's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Veronica Tate was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those runs were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lacey Gonzalez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

The win (which was Clio's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Fenton, they moved to 12-2 with that defeat, which also ended their 12-game winning streak.

Clio will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair will be back at it again later today.
