Flag Football Game Preview: Buena Bulldogs vs. Ventura Cougars

Buena is 0-3 against Ventura since October of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will host the Cougars at 6:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Buena was beaten by San Marcos 35-6. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Royals are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, Ventura entered their tilt with Milpitas on Saturday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They walked away with a 20-13 win over the Trojans.

Ventura's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Buena, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Buena was dealt a bruising 41-0 defeat at the hands of Ventura in their previous matchup on September 4th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Cougars' Ava Ortman, who threw for 293 yards and five TDs while completing 72.7% of her passes, and also rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.
