Football Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Skates Past Girard College with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Model Secondary School for the Deaf). They breezed past the Girard College Cavaliers to the tune of 38-6 on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their six-point performance the contest before.

Leading Model Secondary School for the Deaf to victory were Darian Vega and Davion Jackson. Vega picked up 185 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Jackson picked up 78 receiving yards and one TD. Those 78 receiving yards gave Jackson a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was Model Secondary School for the Deaf's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anakin Kuhns. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Girard College, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 70-24 loss against California School for the Deaf-Riverside on the 24th. Girard College does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
