Basketball Game Preview: Amboy Clippers vs. Stockton Blackhawks

The Amboy Clippers will take on the Stockton Blackhawks at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Amboy was fully in charge, breezing past Ashton-Franklin Center 50-14. The Clippers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Stockton didn't have too much trouble with Warren on Thursday as they won 47-33. Given the Blackhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Warriors are ranked 511th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amboy is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points per game. As for Stockton, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.

Amboy was able to grind out a solid victory over Stockton when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 37-29. Will Amboy repeat their success, or does Stockton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
