Baseball Recap: Bloomsburg Panthers vs. Shamokin Area Indians
Bloomsburg lost against Shamokin Area back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bloomsburg took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shamokin Area. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bloomsburg got a good showing from Brayden Holbert, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Holbert has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Shane Frey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brady Hendricks, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Bloomsburg's record is now 1-3. As for Shamokin Area, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
