Basketball Recap: Isaiah Lindor Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Coral Park

Sports Leadership & Management won against Taravella last Saturday with 62 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. Sports Leadership & Management managed a 62-56 victory over the Coral Park Rams. Sports Leadership & Management has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Coral Park, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sports Leadership & Management to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Lindor, who went 6 for 10 en route to 19 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Lindor a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Sports Leadership & Management smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Coral Park still got an impressive performance from Angel Lara, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. That was a full 35.7% of Coral Park's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Jeremias Jimenez was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Sports Leadership & Management pushed their record up to 7-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Coral Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Sports Leadership & Management and Coral Park will both be playing Dr. Krop the next time they take the court. Coral Park will host Dr. Krop at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Sports Leadership & Management will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
