Volleyball Preview: Colby Eagles vs. Norton Bluejays
On Saturday Colby will have to hit the road after five straight games at home. It'll be Battle of the Birds when Eagles dukes it out withthe Norton Bluejays at 3:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Colby earned a 2-0 victory over Russell.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Colby took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-14.
Meanwhile, Norton had already won 11 in a row and they went ahead and made it 12 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Broncs 2-1.
Norton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 25-20.
Norton can attribute much of their success to Kcanna Keiswetter, who had 14 digs.
Colby is on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 22 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 32-5-2 record this season. As for Norton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-4.
