Football Recap: Silsbee Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Silsbee can now relate to. They lost to the La Vega Pirates on the road by a 30-14 margin on Friday. The matchup was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Tigers couldn't quite close it out.

Although Silsbee took the loss, they still got scores from Ty'Zavion Hafford and Jacaleb Johnson.

La Vega's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jabarie Thornton led the charge by picking up 157 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most receiving yards Thornton has posted since back in September. Another signal caller making a difference was Kourtney Parr, who threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns.

Silsbee moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for La Vega, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Silsbee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Vega, they are taking a road trip to take on La Marque at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 970 yards in their previous games.
