Volleyball Recap: Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-4. They came up short against the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers, falling 3-0. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Hustlers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Melbourne Central Catholic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since October 14, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Melbourne Central Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Martin, who had nine digs and two aces. Sinclaire Dugger also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Looking ahead, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy will welcome Calvary Chapel Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Rockledge on the 9th.
