Basketball Game Preview: Greeneville Greene Devils vs. Watauga Pioneers

The Greeneville Greene Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Watauga Pioneers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greeneville has given up an average of 56.8 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

If Greeneville beats Watauga with 64 points on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Greene Devils walked away with a 64-56 win over Morristown-Hamblen West on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Greene Devils in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Greeneville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brylee Tullock led the charge by going 7-for-17 en route to 26 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Tullock's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Lyde, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 12 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Watauga came up short against West Ridge on Friday and fell 61-48. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Watauga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Greeneville, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
