Avon Grove will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Downingtown East, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Red Devils walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Cougars on Thursday. The game was the first time the Red Devils have beaten the Cougars on their field since April 17, 2023.

Avon Grove got a great performance from Ryan Fuller as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Fuller is becoming a predictor of the Red Devils' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 2-8 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Nick Campese was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.
Avon Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Bishop Shanahan's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Coatesville by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.
Bishop Shanahan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Lamb, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Bishop Shanahan now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Avon Grove, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Avon Grove has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bishop Shanahan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
