Football Recap: Athens Drive Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Athens Drive extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They were dealt a 74-0 loss at the hands of the Rolesville Rams. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Rams are ranked 15th).

As for Rolesville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.2 points on average over those games.

Leading Rolesville to victory were Amir Brown and Kaleb Williams. Brown rushed for 84 yards and two scores, while Williams threw for 110 yards and a pair of TDs. Williams' passing game has become a key predictor of the Rams' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.
