Basketball Game Preview: Minden Whippets vs. Lexington Minutemen

Minden is a perfect 10-0 against Lexington since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Whippets are taking a road trip to challenge the Minutemen at 5:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Minden is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Ogallala on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Whippets took a blow against the Indians, falling 74-20. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Whippets have suffered against the Indians since January 27, 2020.

Lexington kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 74-32 loss at the hands of Gothenburg. The Minutemen have struggled against the Swedes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Everything came up roses for Minden against Lexington in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 62-19 victory. In that game, the Whippets amassed a halftime lead of 31-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
