Basketball Recap: Pewitt Comes Up Short

Pewitt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 47-26 to the Bowie Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Brahmas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1458th, while the Pirates are ranked 673rd).

Pewitt's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Bowie, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pewitt has already played their next contest (against Rivercrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bowie is taking a road trip to face off against Harts Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harts Bluff is on a three-game streak of home wins, Bowie a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
