Basketball Recap: Alondra Chico's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Maritime Academy Charter over Mariana Bracetti Academy

Maritime Academy Charter's tournament run continued when they took on Mariana Bracetti Academy on Saturday. The Seadogs fell 35-22 to Mariana Bracetti Academy.

Maritime Academy Charter lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alondra Chico, who posted eight points and five steals. Marlae Boone was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Maritime Academy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maritime Academy Charter will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on MAST Charter II at 3:15 p.m. on December 8. The contest will give the Seadogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Mariana Bracetti Academy, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on South Philadelphia at 3:15 p.m. on December 1.
