Central City/Centura strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against the Raymond Central Mustangs as they made off with a 16-5 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Kernels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hayden Murphy was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Murphy was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Conner Erickson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Mason Gorecki was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.

Central City/Centura was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .487. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Central City/Centura's record is now 5-0. As for Raymond Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Central City/Centura will challenge rival Fort Calhoun at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Kernels 2.2, the Pioneers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Raymond Central is set to take on their familiar foe Platte Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
