Volleyball Recap: Shenandoah Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Shenandoah can now relate to. They came up short against the Newark Catholic Green Wave on Wednesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Zeps have suffered since September 30, 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-11.

Shenandoah's offense was headlined by Molly Van Fleet and Brenna Leach, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Alyssa Crum and her 15 assists. Shayla Holcomb controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Newark Catholic to victory were Christiana Scarsella and Veronica Bailey. Scarsella had nine digs and two aces, while Bailey had eight digs and three assists. Scarsella has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.
