Basketball Recap: Hueytown Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hueytown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Clay-Chalkville Cougars and fell 68-37. The Golden Gophers lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 99-2 score last time.

Despite the loss, Hueytown still got an impressive performance from Mike Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Horn, who posted five points.

Hueytown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Clay-Chalkville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Hueytown will welcome Shades Valley at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Clay-Chalkville, they are taking a road trip to challenge McAdory at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
