Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ava Russell and Hayden Parsons Lead Gaston Christian to Victory + How To Watch

Gaston Christian lost to Westminster Catawba Christian back in September, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Indians 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since August 8th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (109-105) Gaston Christian actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-21, 15-25, 25-23, 17-15.

Gaston Christian was led to victory by Hayden Parsons and Ava Russell. Parsons had 13 digs and three aces, while Russell had 11 digs. That's the most digs Parsons has posted since back in September. Bailey Knox also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Gaston Christian's victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 13-9. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Gaston Christian will head out to take on Hickory Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Gaston Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
