Football Game Preview: Las Vegas Wildcats vs. Desert Pines Jaguars + How To Watch

The Las Vegas Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Desert Pines Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Las Vegas will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Las Vegas and Canyon Springs, and Las Vegas kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats walked away with a 14-7 win over the Pioneers on Friday. The 14-point effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Tanner Vibabul had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 81 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 176 yards and one touchdown. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 52 yards.

Meanwhile, Desert Pines faced Green Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Jaguars and the Gators were almost perfectly matched up, but the Jaguars suffered a 19-18 loss. Despite 92 more yards than the Gators, the Jaguars couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Las Vegas will have to keep a close watch on Jerome Sequeira and Marcus Williams, a pair of players who had a big impact on Desert Pines' prior game. Sequeira rushed for 76 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries, while Williams gained 202 total yards.

Las Vegas' victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Desert Pines, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Las Vegas was able to grind out a solid win over Desert Pines in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, winning 31-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
