Basketball Recap: Rocky Bayou Christian Takes a Loss

Rocky Bayou Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to the Bozeman Bucks on the road by a 62-43 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-53 last Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Rocky Bayou Christian lost, don't look at Carver Knapp. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 13 on his way to 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Knapp a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was McCabe Olin, who posted four points along with five assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Rocky Bayou Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. This was only their 11th loss (out of 16 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

It was another big night for Jamie Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds for Bozeman. The match was Hernandez's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Zirkle, who earned seven points in addition to nine boards and five steals.

Rocky Bayou Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Bozeman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Rocky Bayou Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-49 loss against Laurel Hill on the 30th. As for Bozeman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-58 win against North Bay Haven Academy on the 30th.
