Football Recap: Coyle Falls Short Against Ranked Waukomis

Coyle faced Waukomis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bluejackets took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. The Bluejackets lost against the Chiefs in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 42-6 score last time.

Coyle's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Waukomis, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Coyle will square off against rival Covington-Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Waukomis is set to challenge their familiar foe Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
