Recap: Golden Sierra Grizzlies vs. Vacaville Christian Falcons

The Golden Sierra Grizzlies lost against the Vacaville Christian Falcons back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Golden Sierra fell to Vacaville Christian 36-31. Golden Sierra has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Golden Sierra lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Skyler Tory, who scored two points along with 16 rebounds and two steals. Tory has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaylen Vertin, who scored six points along with three steals.

Kelsey Trumble was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds for Vacaville Christian. Trumble is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Golden Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Vacaville Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Golden Sierra will play host again and welcome Highlands, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highlands is coming into the contest with three straight wins on the road, so Golden Sierra is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Vacaville Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rio Vista at 6:00 p.m. Rio Vista is coming into the contest with four straight wins on the road, so Vacaville Christian is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
