It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but DeWitt had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 41-20 margin over the De La Salle Collegiate Pilots. The victory was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.

Traverse Moore was his usual excellent self, rushing for 320 yards and four scores while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September. Tyler Bayshore was another key player, rushing for 57 yards and one TD on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: DeWitt was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 425 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 332 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to DeWitt's defense and their three sacks. Everett Cooper was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Another thorn in De La Salle Collegiate's side was Cooper Chambers, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

DeWitt's record now sits at 13-0. As for De La Salle Collegiate, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Looking ahead, DeWitt will take on Mt. Pleasant at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 11.4, the Oilers 12.7) so any points scored will be well earned. De La Salle Collegiate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
