On Saturday, Foothill faced Sierra Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Foothill Falcons came out on top against the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions by a score of 2-0. The game was the first time the Falcons have beaten the Mountain Lions on their court since May 8, 2021.

Foothill's offense was headlined by Yeheshua Ruiz and Hayden Mauro, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Jayden Ellizar-Keiki and his 24 assists. Mauro also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Derean Shearer, racking up two apiece.

The victory made it two in a row for Foothill and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Sierra Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Foothill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Palo Verde on the 1st. As for Sierra Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against El Dorado on the 1st.
