Volleyball Recap: Palmer Tigers vs. Burwell Longhorns

Palmer lost against Burwell back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 2-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Palmer sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-12, 21-25, 25-17.

Marlea Donahey paced Palmer's offense, picking up ten kills. Donahey got some help from Kayden Tyan and her 21 assists. Finally, Donahey was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Karsyn Bower was a one-woman wrecking crew For Burwell. as she had 19 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Bower has posted over her last nine contests. Addison Critel also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Palmer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Burwell, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Coincidentally, Palmer and Burwell will both be playing Grand Island Lutheran the next time they take the court. The Longhorns will head out to face the Lightning at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
