After flying high against Beyer last Friday, Grace Davis came back down to earth. The Grace Davis Spartans took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ceres Bulldogs. One positive for the Spartans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Grace Davis' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Johan Chaney, who gained 105 total yards and four touchdowns, and Caleb Zaragoza, who threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
Daniel Davis was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown. Reis Smith also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Grace Davis' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Ceres, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Davis will head out to face off against Pacheco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
