Natalia Ninotti was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Ninotti was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Northwest Area got a massive performance out of Ava Ruckle, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI and three runs. Those five RBI gave Ruckle a new career-high. Callie Moyer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Northwest Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .577. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Sullivan County got the win against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on Thursday by a conclusive 26-5. The Griffins have beaten the Rams the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rams has come to flipping the script.
Kayla Fowler was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Amber Kelly, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI.
Northwest Area pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Sullivan County, their record now sits at 2-0.
Northwest Area took their victory against Sullivan County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwest Area since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
