Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Thomas Aquinas walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Ida Baker Bulldogs on Wednesday as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matches by six runs or more this season.

Thomas Giltner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Nico Sabatino was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

St. Thomas Aquinas lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in nine consecutive contests.

St. Thomas Aquinas' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ida Baker, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-14.

St. Thomas Aquinas will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
