Basketball Recap: Elite Scholars Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Elite Scholars Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 50-36 victory over the Lake Oconee Academy Titans. For the Royal Knights, this counts as revenge for the 40-36 win the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Jeremiah Janiver had an outrageously good game as he shot 42% from the field on his way to 20 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Xavier Charles-Jones, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Elite Scholars Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lake Oconee Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Elite Scholars Academy will take on Lakeview Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Oconee Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oglethorpe County at 5:00 p.m.
