Volleyball Recap: South Elgin Storm vs. St. Charles North North Stars

South Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Charles North North Stars. The Storm were not able to make up for their loss to the North Stars from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

South Elgin started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-13, 25-16.

Luka Jovanovic paced South Elgin's offense, picking up seven kills. Jovanovic got some help from Damian Hernandez and his 13 assists. Finally, Cole Jurcy kept South Elgin's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

South Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for St. Charles North, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Coming up, South Elgin will head out on the road to square off against Larkin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Charles North, they will be playing at home against St. Charles East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
