Basketball Recap: Legacy Falls to Arleta in First Game of Season

Legacy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 85-64 to the Arleta Mustangs on Friday.

Arleta's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Cacho, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine assists. Cacho is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Damian Martinez, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 16 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds.

Looking ahead, Legacy will be taking part in a tournament against Garfield at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arleta, they will challenge Maranatha at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
