Football Recap: Charlotte Christian Takes a Loss

Charlotte Christian and Providence Day squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Charlotte Christian had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Chargers, falling 42-6. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Elliott Newcomb threw for 121 yards on 11 of 29 attempts. Vincent Rosen was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards. On the ground, Jamal Rule rushed for 89 yards.

Providence Day had a senior duo take command as Aidan Gallos gained 162 total yards and two touchdowns and Zaid Lott threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Gallos also set a new season-high mark in rushing yards with 132.

Charlotte Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Providence Day, the win keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

As of now, neither Charlotte Christian nor the Chargers have any future games scheduled.
