Baseball Recap: Barrington Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central, Barrington was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They never let the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers get on the board and left with a 6-0 win.

Will Renshaw looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Juilan Ashley-Friedman, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Jack Swarbrick was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Barrington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Barrington will look to defend their home field on Monday against Glenbrook North at 4:45 p.m. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, they will face off against York at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
