Preview: New Buffalo Bison vs. Marcellus Wildcats
The New Buffalo Bison will head out on the road to face off against the Marcellus Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully New Buffalo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, New Buffalo was the victim of a tough 73-48 defeat at the hands of Michigan Lutheran. New Buffalo has not had much luck with Michigan Lutheran recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
New Buffalo's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Andres Becerra, who scored 21 points along with 5 rebounds, and Lucas Forker who scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds. Becerra scored a full 43.8% of New Buffalo's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Marcellus had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. The contest between Marcellus and Lawton wasn't particularly close, with Marcellus falling 38-23.
Eau Claire's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while New Buffalo's loss dropped theirs to 0-1.
New Buffalo and Marcellus were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February, but New Buffalo came up empty-handed after a 49-48 defeat. Can New Buffalo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
