Basketball Game Preview: Gibbs Gladiators vs. Osceola Warriors

Gibbs has gone 9-1 against Osceola recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Gibbs Gladiators will be playing at home against the Osceola Warriors at 8:00 p.m. Gibbs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Osceola likes a good challenge.

Gibbs' upcoming contest probably won't be as stressful as their last, when they took on another nationally ranked opponent: Blake, who was ranked 45th at the time (Gibbs was ranked 63rd). Gibbs snuck past Blake with a 68-62 victory on Saturday.

Gibbs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Daniels, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks. That's the most boards Daniels has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathis Roberts, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Osceola was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 61-55 to Northside Christian.

Osceola's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Gibbs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Gibbs against Osceola when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 78-39 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Osceola's Talon Brooks, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 23 points.
