Basketball Recap: Lapel Falls to Pendleton Heights in First Game of Season

Lapel had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pendleton Heights Arabians on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Arabians: they've now lost five in a row.

Pendleton Heights found their leader in freshman Clark Emly, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cooper Sims, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 15 points.

The win keeps Pendleton Heights at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Lapel will head out on the road to square off against Wapahani at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pendleton Heights, they will host Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
