Baseball Recap: Wekiva Has No Trouble Against Circle Christian

Wekiva never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over the Circle Christian Centurions. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their two-run performance the match before.

Emil Flaquer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Flaquer was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Wekiva let Cody Bowen and Jaden Graham run wild. Bowen scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Graham went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brady Reinert, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Wekiva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Circle Christian only posted an OBP of .333.

The victory got Wekiva back to even at 1-1. As for Circle Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Wekiva has already played their next game, a 25-0 defeat against Four Corners on the 14th. As for Circle Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-9 win against Altamonte Christian on the 17th.
