Football Game Preview: Beacon Bulldogs vs. Wallkill Panthers

The Beacon Bulldogs will face off against the Wallkill Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beacon will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

On Friday, Beacon beat Valley Central 31-19.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beacon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Epps, who rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown. Jamir Spence got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Wallkill fell victim to Cornwall Central and their airtight defense last Friday. They took a blow against the Dragons, falling 63-0. The Panthers have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Beacon's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.2 points over those games. As for Wallkill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything went Beacon's way against Wallkill in their previous meeting back in September, as Beacon made off with a 28-7 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Panthers' Kent Glasgow, who rushed for 115 yards and one TD.
