Basketball Recap: Ladarius Finkley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kingdom Prep Lutheran over Milwaukee Lutheran

Kingdom Prep Lutheran was the 84-81 winner over Milwaukee Lutheran when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolfpack fell just short of the Red Knights by a score of 79-76 on Monday.

Kingdom Prep Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ladarius Finkley, who almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Lavant Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Milwaukee Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Ferguson, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Ferguson a new career-high in steals (eight). Xavier Allen was another key player, going 9-for-17 en route to 27 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Kingdom Prep Lutheran and Milwaukee Lutheran will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wolfpack will challenge rival University School of Milwaukee at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Milwaukee Lutheran is set to take on their familiar foe Brown Deer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
