Basketball Game Preview: Lone Pine Golden Eagles vs. Arvin Bears

The Lone Pine Golden Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Arvin Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lone Pine has three straight wins, Arvin has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Lone Pine is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Bishop Union: they outscored them in every quarter. The Golden Eagles blew past the Broncos 54-33 on Monday. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Tommy Fogerty, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Fogerty is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Guerra, who posted ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Arvin came up short against Rosamond on Tuesday and fell 53-43.

Arvin's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lone Pine, their record is now 3-1.

Lone Pine might still be hurting after the 56-33 defeat they got from Arvin when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
