On Thursday, Jackson Day made easy work of Valor Preparatory Academy and carried off an 18-1 victory. The win was just what Jackson Day needed coming off of a 19-3 defeat in their prior contest.

Dillion Burch made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Burch was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with a stolen base.

Jackson Day skirted past Carolina International 16-15 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jackson Day since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
