Soccer Game Preview: Monte Vista Christian vs. Alisal

The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Alisal Trojans at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Monte Vista Christian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Monte Vista Christian came up short against Pajaro Valley on Thursday, falling 5-1. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly four goals.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Alisal was not quite Pajaro Valley's equal in the second half on Monday. They fell 3-1 to the Grizzlies. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Monte Vista Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-3. As for Alisal, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8-2.

Monte Vista Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Alisal in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monte Vista Christian since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
