Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Cedar Grove + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Cedar Grove had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Mountain Lakes Lakers by a score of 22-15 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Cedar Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Pierce Asfalg, who rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 281 yards and one TD. Asfalg's passing game has become a key predictor of the Panthers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Michael Ruggiano was Asfalg's top target, picking up 161 receiving yards and one score.

Cedar Grove's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Mountain Lakes, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Coming up, Cedar Grove will challenge New Providence on Friday. The Pioneers' defense has only allowed 8.4 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Mountain Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
