Baseball Recap: Wellington Drops Highest Score of Season Against Northridge

Wellington's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Northridge Grizzlies. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Deegan Kiser and Cade Keller did most of the damage at the plate: Kiser scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Keller scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Keller a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Gray, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Wellington hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge struck out six times.

Wellington's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Northridge, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wellington beat Northridge by a score of 14-4 on Wednesday.
