Basketball Recap: Central Golden Eagles vs. Holyoke Purple Knights

The Central Golden Eagles had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They blew past Holyoke 50-24. Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Swan, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Swan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Angalece Quinones was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Central pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.7 points. As for Holyoke, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Holyoke will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th.
