Football Recap: Chouteau-Mazie Takes a Loss

The matchup between Chouteau-Mazie and Hulbert on Friday hardly resembled the 18-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Wildcats fell just short of the Riders by a score of 36-34. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Riders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Hulbert's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cody Botts, who rushed for 175 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Botts has become a key player for the Riders: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Ethan Ellis was another key player, rushing for 101 yards and one score.

Chouteau-Mazie's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hulbert, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

As of now, neither Chouteau-Mazie nor the Riders have any future games scheduled.
