Woodlake won the last time they faced Orange Cove and things went their way on Thursday too. Woodlake sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Orange Cove. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly two runs.

Elias Lang spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Connor Bates was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Roman Rosales also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Woodlake and bumps their season record up to 3-2. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 5-2 Corcoran (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.7% over those games). As for Orange Cove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Woodlake has already played their next matchup, a 14-3 loss against South on the 22nd. As for Orange Cove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-5 defeat against Corcoran on the 25th.
